Did you know that if a piano has been held in inadequate storage for a number of years or hasn`t been maintained it is possible that is can become badly infested with moths? Our piano technicians have found moths can eat through hammers, damper felts, leathers and all soft materials.
If a piano is maintained regularly, a technician will spot any signs of damage. A piano can become so badly damaged that it may need restringing as moths can destroy the bearing cloth and hitch pin washers.
Here at All instruments we offer two piano maintenance plans. We also offer an insurance plan which covers moth or vermin damage, which to our knowledge, we are the only insurance provider that covers against this.
